Tarot for the New Aeon can help anyone to better understand their journey through life, its hills, valleys and forks in the road as well as guiding them to evolve and transform their lives to achieve greater harmony with themselves and with others. Having enjoyed the privilege of studying Thoth Tarot with Paula Tarantino over 20 years ago, I am delighted that others can now benefit from her unwaveringly brilliant insights. Reading through this book put me right back into Paula's classes, enthralled by the profound wisdom she is so uniquely able to communicate in direct, down to earth and easy to embrace language. The Tarot presents an unbroken chain of vivid imagistic scenarios—snapshots taken on the long and winding road of the human journey by those who have gone before us and who have survived to tell the story. The Thoth Tarot of Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris presents a highly esoteric, richly textured and densely symbol-laden tarot that is beautiful to behold: each card, a distinct painting suspended in the illuminated corridors of the Akashic Records. Numerous authors have attempted to accurately interpret the Thoth Tarot images, but much of Crowley's metaphysical brilliance has been lost in the translation. With all due respect to these authors, in my opinion none have broken it down to common English quite like P. C. Tarantino. This lady, she talks normal. However, don't let the straightforward ordinariness of her language fool you. Behind the plain talk is a genuine seer with a vision tempered by decades of Tarot study and practice backed up by an integrity for applying her insights to the travails of daily life. Misconceptions about the Tarot abound, but P.C. Tarantino helps the curious shrug off rumor-fueled black magick connotations, at the same time she improves accessibility. Tarot for the New Aeon aims to simplify instant readings and create interested students who feel confident about learning more. Interested neophytes who pick up a copy of Tarot for the New Aeon can absorb enough with a couple free hours to begin some of the more basic readings on themselves. Those short on patience may concentrate on an appendix called “Bottom Line Interpretations.” As with any subject, it is best not to rely on a single source for complete understanding, but Tarantino has done a good job of opening the gate. The "Thoth Tarot" came into P. C. Tarantino's life at a crossroads time, when decisions needed to be made, but the way was not clear. Through working with this deck as a tool of empowerment, she was able to move her life in a positive direction. Since 1984 she has been teaching the system of Tarot as a tool of empowerment. What more can we ask of these lovely esoteric cards! The first things that impressed me about this book were its organization, its concise sense of presentation, and the fact that it went far beyond the scope of just presenting information on the cards. With this book in your hand, you will have a tool of self-discovery that is fun to use, while at the same time hitting all of the salient points for a highly esoteric deck. In 1899, The Order of the Golden Dawn revealed to Aleister Crowley, aka The Master Therion, secret Tarot knowledge. The Crowley Thoth Tarot contained the elements of Christian, Eastern, Egyptian, and esoteric knowledge as well as secrets of alchemy, astrology, numerology, and the Qabalah. He wrote The Book Of Thoth (Egyptian Tarot) and within reconciled the Sephiroth "Tree Of Life" with the Tarot card positions.
P. C. Tarantino has brilliantly captured the spirit of Crowley’s work bringing to clarity many Tarot aspects as we enter a time of transmutable awareness of how our reality really works, and how to use universal laws with natural forces to enhance our own lives and the lives of others.
